Description
Starfruit aims to bridge the real world with virtual worlds. All services aim to keep virtual and real friends connected. They were the first to introduce e-commerce in Second Life. People can browse products in the 3D shop, purchase them in-world and get it sent to their address in the real world. The gift service allows flowers, chocolates and jewelry to be sent as real gifts to friends in the real world through partners like Fleurop.com Interflora. In addition, Starfruit offers virtual phone booths which allow users to send SMS text messages from Second Life to their real life friend’s mobile phones

Introduction
Julie Stewart graduated with a Masters in Computing & Systems Design from the University of Manchester. She is a British national having spent the last 12 years working in the IT industry in fields of Banking, Pharmaceuticals and Telecommunications in Sweden, UK, Switzerland and the USA. She recently founded Starfruit.biz enabling e-commerce in 3D worlds. Previously Julie was Head of Speech Services looking to enable voice in IT applications, she has specialized in leading projects in customer care and interested in ensuring that user interaction is key in new development. She was also in charge of the international coordination of research with Vodafone.

Introduction
Roger Jegerlehner studied Computer Science and just founded the company Starfruit.biz enabling e-commerce in virtual worlds. Previously he was deputy of the Software Engineering team at Swisscom Innovations. Over the past years he has led a number of projects in the area of mobile payment, NFC/RFID and usability. He holds two patents in mobile services and was part of the Web 2.0 blogger service, coComment. In 1995, before the internet boom, he founded a portal for classifieds which has become a top website in Switzerland.
