Introduction
Dr. Klaus Ceynowa is Deputy Director General of the Bavarian State Library. The Bavarian State Library provides a great variety of digital services for researchers worldwide, e.g. so called virtual libraries and the broadest collection of books digitised by libraries in Germany. Within the Public Private Partnership of the Bavarian State Library with Google, the library’s complete holdings of copyright-free works, which is more than one million titles, will be digitised and can then be searched and read online via Google and the website of the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek.
