Laura P. Thomas, aka Pyrrha Dell has worked in and around the Dell family for seven years, primarily in the areas of corporate communications, employee communications, public relations, community affairs, branding and online communication. She presently works within the Global eCommerce group and responsible for the home page of Dell.com, as well as all corporate content on the web site. She also assisted with the creation and ongoing management of the Direct2Dell blog, and oversees web feeds and podcasts on Dell.com. In her spare time she led Dell into the metaverse with the creation of Dell Island in Second Life. Laura has earned the designation of Accredited Business Communicator from the International Association of Business Communicators, and received her News/Editorial Journalism degree from Louisiana State University. Before joining Dell Financial Services in 2000, she worked at the Texas Workforce Commission and PepsiCo Food Systems Worldwide. She has been a resident of Second Life since June 2006.
